Kuala Lumpur: a quick trip

We were sad to leave Rescue, but excited to keep adventuring. Next stop: Kuala Lumpur before heading to Turkey.

KL is a big city. It is the heart of Malaysian pride: a strong economy and infrastructure. We only had two days to explore, so we made the most of them. We visited the Batu Temple ( in the pouring rain) the petronas and KL towers, and the world's 6th largest shopping mall ( west Ed is 13th now, but still way better than this one).

We rode the tram around the city ( we are professional transit users now) and saw the sights. The one thing that we found the most dazzling: the thousands of perfectly lined palm trees. Malaysia is the worlds #1 supplier of palm oil.

It was a cool two days despite the heat. Our favorite part was taking pictures at the towers. Just beautiful!

After that it was a 7 hour flight to Abu Dhabi where we spent a painful 10 hour layover in an uncomfortable air port chair. There was no room in the hotel ( for a cool 240 American) and we couldn't leave because Canadians can't get visas on arrival there. The worst part was the airport chairs all had arms so you could t lay across them. I was glad to leave!

We are in Turkey now, enjoying the marvelous sights and tastes.

More on that later!
